GSULYP Signature Events
The Christmas with YP event allows the Young Professionals to give back during the holidays. We are sponsoring 4 families in the Sacramento area by purchasing needed gifts for them. We've been going three years strong and this year if you help us wrap the gifts or bring a gift yourself we will grant you $10.00 off your New Years Eve ticket! Visit our evite invitation to RSVP and select the gift you'd like to bring.
May: Relationship Forum.
Provides an opportunity for young men and women to get together and discuss topics that affect relationships between the sexes, such as communication, office romances, finances, interracial dating and marriage.
March - April: VITA Tax Preparation.
For the second year in a row, the Young Professionals partnered with and were trained by the IRS to provide tax preparation services to eligbile residents in the Sacramento area.
April and October: Rebuilding Together
Provided twice each year, Sacramento Rebuilding Together provides YP the opportunity to rehabilitate homes in Sacramento for elderly and/or disabled low income residents. We volunteer our time to provide necessary and otherwise costly repairs.
May: National Day of Service
Each year, National Urban League affiliates host activities on the National Day of Service to discuss and demonstrate the importance of financial responsibility to at least 5,000 youths between the ages of 12 and 18.

June: YP Banquet
The YP Banquet provides an opportunity to recognize members of YP for outstanding work throughout the fiscal year.
July-August: Influencer Summit
The Influencer Summit is the annual conference hosted by the national young professionals "designed to recognize and empower the emerging leaders of the future". The Summit is held in a different location each year, and we are proud to note that our chapter has been represented at the conference each year since its inception.
Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter: Mix and Mingle
The GSULYP Mix and Mingle events happen at least twice each year and brings together current and prospective members of YP to network and learn about the organization.
