Be a Better Bud Competition
This summer, GSULYP will engage and empower youth through a number of community service projects. These projects will be included in the 2013 Be A Better Bud video competition - a contest sponsored by the National Urban League Young Professionals and Anheuser Busch. Urban League Young Professional chapters across the country have the opportunity to submit their best service projects and compete for $4,000 grants to continue the support their service mission. Right now, we need YOUR help to get as many votes as we can for our three entries. Our signature programs for the competition include:
Reading Day - a fun-filled day of activities designed to engage youth in activities that will promote and further develop comprehension, listening, and reading skills.
Handshake and Ties - a workshop designed to teach young men how to dress and conduct themselves for success in the workplace.
Del Paso Youth Workforce Readiness Program - a program that teaches youth entry-level employment skills with mentoring from GSULYP members and volunteers. Participants will learn a variety of skills in workshops taught by GSULYP volunteers and will be placed in internships or have the opportunity to shadow a Young Professional.
