California Voters have spoken: No more business as usual!

Following the November 2008 General Election, Californians voted to take authority away from the legislature to draw their own district lines.  Now, that authority will reside with a Citizens Redistricting Commission made up of...you guessed it...ordinary citizens!

Why is this important? Think about it, YOU will now have the opportunity to draw district boundaries for elected officials who REPRESENT YOU!

Here's the critical part: 14 ordinary citizens will be chosen at random from a pool of applicants to serve on the Commission that will redraw district lines.  However, to date, approximately 70 - 80% of the applicants are not applicants of color or female applicants.  WE NEED YOU TO APPLY!  The bottom line is if the applicant pool is not diverse, the Commission will not be diverse.
